The best thing about working with Design Led Construction was the space we had to think about what we really wanted, and the best, and most beautiful, way to achieve it. It seemed that if we had a doubt or concern, it didn't matter what stage the construction was at, Dil was ready to go back to the drawing board and help us think things through again, always coming up with something that worked better and looked better. We always felt that the depth of Dil's knowledge meant that he could draw on a huge variety of approaches and materials to achieve exactly what we wanted.

 

Our house is a constant pleasure to be in. Even though it was finished more than 6 years ago, we still feel delighted when we walk around it, and visitors are always very struck by the how lovely it is. And we're pretty sure it won't fall down. There's a combination of grand-scale understanding of what makes for a good living space, with a talent for beautiful design details. And on top of this, the cost was extremely reasonable. One of Dil's key strengths is his use of light - our two biggest spaces have natural light from four sides, enhanced by his internal lighting design.

 

Building work should be a nightmare, but somehow with DLC is was rather a pleasure, even fun.
